I all,
I have a problem on my Windows Vista that began afetr the purchase of an external Hard Disk Freecom.
A few days afetr the purchase I disconnected it while it was writing and, since that moment, every time I connect and disconnect it, the PC go to freeze mode for 5 minutes.
The same thing happen even if the hard disk is disconnected: every time I start windows it go to freeze a little after the password, and every time I connect and disconnect a usb device.
I have looked for the solution everywhere, updated windows, unistalled and installed the hard disk from the device manager but I solved the problem only when I restored a recent backup.
Yesterday the Hard disk was writing a backup while Vista was installing the updates; at the end of the proceure windows restarted automatically and the problem began again!!!
The Pc go to freeze when it starts, every time I connect or disconnect the hard disk, an usb earphone that has always worked switch on but there is no audio and I don't know how many others usb devices will have problems.
Has anyone an idea to solve this problem before I throw out of the window Vista or the the hard disk?

Show Desktop is already done by CeIIular. But yeah, Jumplists are coming and when it comes SBar will be DEAD!

Please make it more universal:

1. Ability to change icon size manually

Many of Xp/Vista users loves the new taskbar, but still wants to save small taskbar size with small icons or just classic scheme.

2. Ability to show default (non-skinned) context ("commands") menu.

It works faster (in opposite to skinned menu), looking nice for non-Aero theme users

3. Ability to remove "show desktop" button (right from tray)

I saw many requests like "how to do it in Windows 7", moreover, it looks ugly in many of non-Aero themes

4. Ability to remove tray icon.

Many users hates tray icon when they want application to look as a part of the system.

The app's settings can be succesfully runned from start menu/or hotkey.

5. Pinning for Windows Explorer change:

When you want to add for example "My computer" or other folder, it still pins "My documents" with turning on "folder" navigation view (many ppl just turning it off).

Whatever version I try to Sbar currently is not useable for me. Icons appear always at the left side, overlapping the fast start icons located there. If I hoover mouse to such an icon it complete disappear. (Screenshots available if useful). Any idea what to change ?

this is a terrific software. i have a problem on the size of icons. i'm using a vstyle with a compact taskbar, and i put the taskbar top of the screen. the below one third of the icon is out of the taskbar while i use the "aero" or "aero7" skin. when i use the skin "aero16" the icons in the taskbar are too small that the same as the icons on system tray. how can i control the size of icons? thanks!

Dude, you have a 64 bit OS man. If you have two program files, there is one for 64 bit apps (Program Files) and one for 32 bit apps (Program Files (x86)).

Don't even think there is going to be a 64 bit sbar because Dimitar or whoever wrote this app is not interested in building it for 64 bit. As you can see above, I offered my help with a 64 bit machine, but I had no reply for a month and half.

I keep getting an error message when trying to install it saying it only supports x86, but i thought i had this. I have two program files on my computer,

C:/Program Files

and

C:/Program Files (x86)

does that not mean i have x86?

Rated 3 Stars (out of 5) - I like it better than Viglance but would be nice to have taskbar shuffle and smooth transition from one thumbnail preview to another. Plus adding some new skins without it crashing would be nice.

Created Issue: Exception throw when clicking Explorer task bar item [25095]

This error is thrown when I click on the an explorer process ,If it has more than one item .The error tends to go away if I reboot the system ,but then it reappears some how.

Update...

Suddenly it is working again! It could have been a Windows update that corrected the problem. It would be nice to know (for next time) exactly what is required to make it work in this circumstance, but I'm glad it is working for now.

I was using SBar successfully and I liked it but I needed to resetup my computer (with Windows XP) and now when I installed SBar I get an error when I try to open it. The title bar says: SBar.exe - Application Error. The error says: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminate the application. So, now it doesn't run at all. I tried installing all the different versions and now have the latest installed and they all act the same. When I first tried using Sbar I had the same problem but suddenly something worked and I could use it, but now after reinstalling everything it doesn't work again. What do I need to do to use it?

I recently tried SBar on my 15 inch monitor and it does not work as it can only have a maximum resolution 1024*768. The program starts but nothing shows on task bar....no running programs, pinned items ..nothing at all..anyone know why this happens.

Hello Dimitar,

Maybe someone can help you with the x64 problem. I have a Vista x64 at home. Maybe if you instruct me in how to build the app from the source code, we could get somewhere. Maybe tell me the software you use to build it? Ant script or whatever you use. I guess that is what you are missing, a Win x64 machine right?
